Start with your band measurement
Most fit problems are band problems. Your underbust measurement, taken snugly on bare skin, is your band size. If your current bra rides up at the back or the straps do all the work, the band is almost certainly too big.
Match the silhouette to the outfit
Balconette cups suit wide and lower necklines; the T-shirt bra's moulded cups are made for fitted tops and kurtas; the bralette is for soft, unstructured days; the sports bra is for movement. One of each covers a wardrobe.
Comfort is a feature, not a luxury
Underwires should sit flat against the ribs, never on breast tissue. Straps should stay put without digging. If a style fails either test in your size, exchange it — fit is the product.
